The Christian International School of Prague’s four-year high school is from grade 9 through grade 12. CISP prepares its high school students for higher education in the United States and around the world. Our graduates receive an accredited diploma that is recognized worldwide. CISP provides a nostrification transcript which is recognized in the Czech Republic. Our graduates have been accepted to universities in Prague, Czech Republic, Europe, North America, and around the world.
The courses at CISP generally use an American-based curriculum adapted for our cultural context. For example, a wide range of literature and world history are studied; also, both metric and US customary systems of measurement are used. Most classes meet for 45 minutes, four or five times per week.

Advanced Placement Courses
An Advanced Placement (AP) course is an in-depth university preparatory course that will be a learning experience distinguished from traditional coursework by qualitatively different and higher academic expectations impacting both the faculty member(s) and the students. The purpose is to show students how knowledge in the discipline is discovered, developed, evaluated, argued, tested, compared and applied.
We advise students to take AP courses because most European universities accept American high school diplomas with 2-5 passing AP exam scores. (A passing score is generally between 2-5).
Students are expected to take a greater responsibility for the process of learning than in traditional courses. This responsibility includes spending time outside of class learning and reviewing basic and advanced course material beyond the normal limits of traditional class parameters. In addition, students will be required to do summer assignments in preparation for the class.
An AP class is designed to prepare the student for taking the Advanced Placement exam. The AP exam may give the student college course credit if a minimum exam score is reached. Please visit AP Central on the College Board webpage to find out more about the Advanced Placement program and visit your prospective college websites or admissions offices to see what AP courses and scores are accepted.
Students who register to take AP courses offered through this CISP course catalog are charged an additional fee AP course. This fee covers additional materials, additional instruction time and the AP exam fee. The AP courses offered at CISP varies by year.
For inquiries/questions about the AP program please contact Becca Miller.
